Fitness Facilities

At the Northern, we're not just a racquets club, we have three fantastic fitness areas:

Our first-floor fitness suite features a fully-equipped gym with the latest in cardiovascular, weights and resistance equipment and an experienced team of personal trainers to help you reach your goals. Alongside the gym, our spacious, airy studio offers a busy timetable of innovative and motivational fitness classes to suit all ages and abilities.

A new addition is our Strength & Conditioning centre, which is great for building leg and core strength and is a great space to train in. Whatever your fitness needs, we have them covered at The Northern.

Facilities

The Gym

Whether it is your first time in the gym, or you are a seasoned member, we have the facilities and professional expertise to help you get the most out of your training.

Our cardiovascular equipment includes treadmills (one leg-powered Curve Treadmill!), crosstrainers, bikes (including Watt Bikes & an Assault Airbike), rowers, ski erg, Stairmaster, fixed resistance machines plus TRX cables, medicine balls, swiss balls, barbells and kettlebells. In addition, we offer a full range of free weights and a dedicated lifting area.

We also have a team of experienced Personal Trainers who can help you with your fitness needs.

Facilities

The Studio

The Studio is a light and spacious area, which offers a comprehensive menu of instructor-led fitness classes, from calming Yoga and Pilates through to Spinning and HIIT training. Each class is created to make you work hard to get results but also enjoy your workout.

Facilities

Strength & Conditioning Centre

Our Strength & Conditioning facility was built to support the racquet programmes and individual members.

Equipment includes 4 squat racks which double up as deadlift platforms and a track for a sled – great for building leg and core strength – plus a large collection of weights and other S&C kit.

We run a programme of strength and conditioning classes for both juniors and adults. It will also be bookable by the hour when not in use for classes, and PTs will use it for training sessions.
